PE 121 Pickleball

This course is an introductory Pickleball class to develop basic skills, techniques and fundamentals. This will include rules, scoring, etiquette, and strategies of play. This course will provide fundamental Pickleball skills through practice, singles and doubles play. Equipment provided, but may bring own paddle. Repeatable up to 12 credits.

Course Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

1. Apply proper pickleball techniques, including serving, volleying, and groundstrokes

2. Adhere to the rules and regulations of pickleball in both casual and competitive play

3. Utilize strategies for singles and doubles play, including positioning and shot selection 

4. Exhibit sportsmanship and teamwork while competing in pickleball matches

5. Assess personal fitness levels in order to set achievable goals for improvement in pickleball skills and overall physical health
