MGMT 488 Project Management 2

This course is the second in the Project Management sequence, and is designed to provide an opportunity for students to apply the foundational knowledge and skills from Project Management 1. Working in teams, students will execute, monitor, and close a project. Emphasis will be on successful project execution and project evaluation.

Course Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

1. Identify key theories and concepts of the project management framework established in the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK®)

2. Apply project management principles to execute a project.

3. Evaluate project progress in order to identify corrective actions

4. Design a project closure process that incorporates lessons learned

5. Describe strategies to successfully manage a project team

6. Collaborate with virtual team members using project management software tools

7. Identify the three PMP domains and exam content outline for the CAPM® and PMP® certification exams
