Overview
An AST-Business degree helps community college students transfer to public universities in the state of Oregon seeking a Bachelor's degree in business.
Major Transfer Maps (or MTMs) represent a streamlined path for students transferring from an Oregon community college to an Oregon university who know which major or Bachelor’s degree they want to pursue. In contrast to other statewide transfer tools that prioritize university general education requirements (like the AAOT and ASOT), MTMs specify clear course-taking paths necessary for on-track progress towards a specific major or Bachelor’s degree, with a guarantee of transfer from any Oregon community college to any Oregon public university.
MTMs may specify particular relevant/required General Education courses as part of the 30-credit Core Transfer Requirement of the MTM. Students must have earned a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 and meet the residency requirements at the community college awarding the MTM.
Students are highly encouraged to speak with an academic advisor to plan their required business courses.
Program Learning Outcomes:
Explain basic business functions and their integration into the business environment.
Integrate diverse cultural perspectives and ethical reasoning and actions into business decisions.
Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills.
Apply critical thinking and analytical reasoning skills to business decisions.
