TRS 440MJ Liturgy and the Christian Life

The course explores the foundations of the liturgy (liturgical time, liturgical space, liturgical words [scriptures and prayers], and liturgical actions [sacraments]) in the light of the Constitution of the Liturgy of the Second Vatican Council. Liturgy informs the Christian life. The course engages students in doing liturgical theology: the ecclesial and ritual nature of liturgy, the sacramental roots of the Christian life, the role of scripture in the liturgy, and liturgy as a cultural reality.
