PHIL 403 Morality and Law

A study of the relation between law and morality and its consequences for the resolution of human conflict. Emphasis on the issues between natural law/right theory and its diverse critics. Topical problems deal with the legal enforcement of morals, punishment, discrimination. Enduring Questions addressed: (1) The Human Condition; (2) Freedom and Justice. Area I. Prerequisites: 201 and 202, or equivalent.
