CEE 419 Applied Finite Element Modeling for Structural Analysis

An application-oriented course that introduces finite element modeling procedures for analyzing and designing civil engineering structures. The objective is to help students understanding how to model, compute, and interpret structural analysis problems using computer software. Students will learn how to perform finite element analyses, understand how structural components behave, interpret analysis results, and validate models. This course includes structural analysis of elastic linear models, inelastic models with material and geometric nonlinearities, emphasizing on modeling assumptions and component behavior. Prerequisite: CEE 426 - Introduction to Finite Elements; CEE 312 - Theory of Structures
