SOC 342 Jerusalem: Urban Sociology of the Holy City
The goal of the class is to introduce the student to the history and social geography of the city and give them an insider's look into issues of: disputes over the holy places in Jerusalem, the politics of archaeology and tourism in heritage sites in the Old City, collective memory in Israel and the Temple Mount as a center of conflict and current messianic efforts.
