ACCT 442 Accounting Ethics

Fall Semester only. Foundations of ethics in commercial activity, with special and extended attention to the specific demands of professional ethics for accountants, covering the AICPA and IFAC codes, the role of state boards of accountancy, and ethical issues related to the financial crisis, with extensive reference to case studies drawn from everyday practice, as well as high-profile scandals involving external auditors of public companies.
