MUS 139 Introduction to Music Education
Designed to help students clarify whether they have an interest in becoming and effective teacher, this one credit course is for any student interested in in instrumental, general, or choral music education. Topics include the nature of music teaching, qualities and competencies of a music teacher, and an introduction to basic music pedagogies and issues. To be taken concurrently with MUS 140, Music Education lab. There are no other prerequisites. Required within the music education program; an elective open to all students of the School of Music.
