Introduces fundamental concepts needed to understand the biological and chemical impact of humankind on earth: how ecosystems work and adapt to change; sustainability; population growth; water, air, and soil pollution; water, nutrient, and waste management; resource depletion; energy issues and the future of solar and other renewable energy sources.
