PHIL 815 Hegel and Heidegger on Experience
The course aims to restore a pre-existing conversation between two outstanding philosophers of experience: we will read selections from Hegel's Phenomenology of Spirit alongside Heidegger's 1930/31 course on the same and his "Hegel's Concept of Experience" (1950). Topics of discussion will include the nature of spatiotemporal particulars, perception, the relation of being to cognition, and the nature of phenomenology generally.
