NURS 787D Primary Care of the Newborn

A clinical course designed to supplement 780 and to further develop the clinical skills necessary to provide primary care to the newborn and family. Focuses on initial assessment and management of the full-term neonate. Students can develop skills in physical, behavioral, and psychosocial assessment of newborns in a family framework and increase their knowledge and skills in the evaluation and management of health issues and problems encountered in the newborn period. Department consent required.
