NRS 350 Legal and Ethical Nursing

This course examines the intersection of healthcare law, ethics, and sound clinical decision-making within professional nursing practice. Students explore legal standards, documentation responsibilities, ethical frameworks, and patient rights that shape professional accountability and quality care. Emphasis is placed on accurate documentation, informed consent, and patient advocacy within the framework of current healthcare regulations. The course also highlights the ethical obligations of nurses as citizens, professionals, caregivers, and leaders in the design and management of care.
