Jacobs Library supports the mission, vision, and core values of Illinois Valley Community College by providing services, spaces, and resources that invite discovery, promote critical thinking, foster personal and professional growth, and contribute to the well-being and academic success of the campus community.

Library Services, Spaces, and Resources

Services

The library helps students and the community succeed in their academic pursuits. Key support services include research help from professional librarians, skills workshops and information literacy sessions, and learning technology support.

Spaces

The library offers a place for everyone. From bookable study rooms and group spaces to quiet corners in the stacks, a variety of environments support studying, collaboration, and productivity.

Resources

The library provides access to a wide range of resources, including books in multiple formats, academic journals, magazines, encyclopedias, streaming media, and more. Library collections can be explored through the catalog and databases. IVCC students and employees may also request materials from partner libraries through the I-Share system, expanding access beyond the local collections.
